Investment company O1 Properties, one of the largest owners of class-A office real estate in Moscow, has launched the O1 Properties Green One Club for tenants of its business centres.
The Green One Club is a community of companies interested in how office life can be more environment friendly. The Club invites discussion and exchange of experience among tenants of O1 Properties, spreading knowledge of green office technologies, practices and initiatives to improve the environmental performance and management of buildings. Joint actions will be held to involve more companies in the environmental agenda and transform the daily work habits of tenant staff.
Elena Belevtseva, Marketing and Communications Director of O1 Properties said: “We are highly attentive to the environmental efficiency of our property portfolio. We certify our buildings to international eco-standards, and we develop environment-friendly management practices. By launching the Green One Club, we want to bring together tenants who are interested in the green office theme. The aims of the Club are to jointly develop environmental initiatives, raise awareness of all users of our properties about environmental projects in real estate, promote sustainable property management practices and transform people’s working habits.”
The first meeting of the Club was addressed by Evgenia Soldatova, Manager for Sustainable Development Projects at O1 Standard. She spoke about the history of green office spaces and environmental construction practices today, describing the various “green” certification systems and how they can be applied to entire buildings and to individual offices inside buildings.
Vadim Yezhov, Head of ABB’s Building Automation Group, described energy efficient solutions now implemented by the ABB office in the iCUBE business centre. Denis Koshkarev, Business Development Manager for ABB Charging Stations, gave an account of the first year of operation of the charging station for electric vehicles at iCUBE (available to building tenants and the general public).
Denis Koshkarev said: “ABB has a strong commitment to sustainable development: the automation system in our office controls and reduces electricity use, and the ABB charging station for electric vehicles, installed next to the business centre, reduces CO2 emissions into the environment. We are glad to be moving in the same direction as O1 Properties and are ready to support their initiatives to save natural resources.”
Care for the environment and reducing the environmental footprint of business centres is part of O1 Properties’ corporate social responsibility programme. Ten of the company’s facilities are certified under the UK’s BREEAM standard for environmental performance. The buildings of O1 Properties use systems that save environmental resources and reduce harmful emissions. Most facilities have a landscaped area and are open to the public. Waste is separately collected and sorted, and containers for collecting and disposing of batteries have been installed at management company offices. O1 Properties has been a member of the UN Global Compact since 2019 and an office partner for the National Network of the UN Global Compact since 2020.
