April 27, 2018. O1 Properties has won the prize for Lease Deal of the Year in Russia’s prestigious Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Awards for the second consecutive year. The prize was awarded to O1 Properties for its transaction with the Russian mobile telecom provider, VimpelCom (Beeline brand) for lease of space at the Bolshevik business and cultural centre. Under the agreement, which VimpelCom signed in December 2017, the mobile operator will relocate its head office to the Bolshevik centre, where it will lease 17,000 sq.m. of office space.

This deal was the largest lease transaction in Russia’s class-A office segment in 2016-2017. The building, which VimpelCom will occupy, is part of the second stage of renovation of the Bolshevik site and will be ready for the tenant to take up residence in mid-2019.

The fact that the transaction was concluded at an early stage of project readiness sends a very positive signal to the market and will stimulate the development of ‘built-to-suit’ practice, which is already widespread in Western markets. O1 Properties has won several prizes at the CRE Awards in various years. They include  Lease Deal of the Year (2017), three prizes in 2013 (Best Class-A Business Centre, Investment Transaction of the Year, Person of the Year), Best Class-A Business Centre (2012) and Investment Transaction of the Year (2011).
