11 December 2020. White Square business complex, owned by O1 Properties, is the first site in Moscow accepting takeaway food deliveries by the Yandex.Rover robot delivery system.
The Yandex.Rover courier, designed for delivery of small loads, is a fully autonomous robot, capable of planning its route, gauging the situation around it and avoiding obstacles. The Rover travels along city pavements at walking pace and can operate in most weather conditions, both summer and winter.
White Square hosts the offices of many large Russian and foreign companies and has well- established social infrastructure, including a number of popular eateries. The Rover delivers orders from top takeaway venues: Marukame noodle restaurant, Steak it Easy, Boston Seafood & Bar, PRIME, PAUL and Cheese Connection. The delivery zone will expand as other restaurants start using the Yandex.Rover service.
Customers can choose delivery by robot when placing their order on the Yandex.Food app. The Rover collects the order from the restaurant and brings it to the White Square entrance specified by the customer. The app includes options for tracking order status and location of the Rover. The lid containing the meal can only be opened by the recipient using his smartphone. If no Rover is available when the customer places his order, it will delivered by a human courier (traditional couriers will continue to deliver food around White Square).
White Square business centre is located in one of the best established and most up-to-date business districts of the Russian capital, adjacent to Belorusskaya metro station. The centre has inbuilt technologies that reduce natural resource consumption and ensure an optimal indoor microclimate. Panoramic glazing makes best use of natural light. White Square has an environmental performance certificate under the international BREEAM system for sustainability assessment.
